When electronic pop producer, TREVOR/hollAnd (aka Trevor Kampmann), and world-renowned New York fine artist Mark Borthwick collaborate, the results are sure to be richly poetic and hypnotically beautiful. Words are strung together in non-linear patterns as they are recited by Helene Filliers in a sporadic stream over meditative acoustic guitars. The melodies weave in and out as the words are gradually sliced apart by empty space. Eventually only traces of the original melody remain and the human voice disintegrates into washes of time-stretched loops and digital clicks.

This is the album that introduced me to ambient music. The Disintegration Loops III is my personal favorite installment in the entirety of the project (although I consider The Disintegration Loops I-IV to be a single, albeit long album).
